Of What This Kiss?

Where does the greatest danger lie,
In honest kiss,
or stranger's lie?
Is it yet best
That kiss is gone
or deceptive still it lingers on?

When passion still ignites the coals
Yet only death lives in the soul
Emotions strewn across life's shore
as empty shells and nothing more
Where does the greatest danger lie;
in honest kiss,
or stanger's lie?

Do ever young lovers dare to think
that one or other
may someday sink
to kiss with only lips of flesh
without a thought or smallest care
of whom it is they're kissing there
an empty kiss; devoid of bliss
what must we think
of what this kiss?

Is it a lie
or pledge of hope
or memory of what was best?
Is it a lie
or pledge of hope
perhaps a foolish lover's test
to see if what grew from within
might now reverse
love born again
Where does the greatest danger lie;
in honest kiss,
or stanger's lie?

Is it better that lips grow cold
or continue to kiss beyond love's bloom
tell me, what you think of this
tell me, of what this kiss?
